Regina was born in Oberlin, Ohio in 1947 and grew up in Columbus, Georgia. She began her musical training on the piano with her father as her teacher. Regina began her serious study on the harp at 12 years old. She attended The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia from 1968-1971.
Regina moved to Manitoba, Canada in 1971 to be the Principal Harpist with the Winnipeg Symphony. She played with the Winnipeg Symphony for three years and then moved to Edmonton, Alberta. In Edmonton, Regina performed with The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra as the Principal Harpist from 1974-1979.
In 1980 Regina left the Edmonton Symphony to raise her family. She continues to play for orchestras as needed and performs in world class hotels such as: The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, The Chateau Lake Louise, The Jasper Park Lodge, The Palliser Hotel in Calgary and The Philippine Plaza in Manila, Philippines. She has also played the harp for many musical, opera and ballet productions throughout Western Canada including: South Pacific, Fantastic, Phantom of the Opera and The Nutcracker Ballet. Regina also teaches the harp privately to many students.
Regina is now married with two children and lives in a lovely wilderness home in British Columbia with her husband, James Timmins, who is an actor. He has recently appeared in A Dinner Theatre Production of "The Great Electrical Revolution" in Edmonton, Alberta. Their son, Randy, is twenty-four and enrolled at The University of Alberta in Environmental and Conservation Science. He works for Parks Canada at Miette Hot Springs, in the summer. Sabre, their twenty-two year old daughter, goes tree planting in the summer and coaches skiing in the winter.
Regina has a large and varied solo harp repertoire suitable for all ages, nationalities and special occasions. It includes; Disney movie songs, musicals, movie themes, jazz, Straus waltzes and opera excerpts. She also plays country music, The Beatles, Bach, Debussy and folk music from England, Ireland, Wales, Japan and South America. Regina also performs contemporary music from Italy, France, Spain, Quebec, and much more.
